STOMP AIDS
STOMP AIDS
there was an AIDS TRAIL at the Faculty of Science last week,
outside LT27.
Jocelyn and I were bored after organic chem practical on friday,
so we decided to go take a look.
it looks like a black house.
literally.
everything’s covered in black cloth.
we were given a briefing before we went in.
we were told that…
the first part of the trail would be a scene at the brothel ;
then a bedroom/hotel room ;
and some information bout HIV/AIDS.
—-
when we went in,
there were “gigolos” in there.
-.-
n they were trying to sell themselves to us.
*rolls eyes*
then we just walked on,
to the “bedroom/hotel room”…
and, according to them,
to make things interesting,
they blindfolded us.
-.-
“pretty, what service you want?”
“uh…do you have girls here?”
“no…don’t have. come la, we’ll make things exciting for you. you want whip or belt?”
“-.- no. we want girls.”
“huh? why?”
“isn’t it obvious that we’re not straight?”
they insist,
we persist.
mamasan(?) comes along.
“girls more expensive leh…you all have money or not?”
“of course have lar! if not come here for what!”
“ok lorrr…”
girls really came along.
and in our minds…
“oh shiat…now what??”
“ok la…so what can we do for you?”
“uh…can mix?”
“mix what?”
“we want both guys and girls.”
“huh…even more expensive leh.”
“never mind…we have money!”
“ok la…let’s get down to it.”
“huh?”
“you want to use condom?”
“uh…”
“if don’t use more expensive.”
“why leh?”
“cuz we don’t know who you have slept with ma…”
“orh…use lor.”
“but if you use, not shiok leh.”
“huh. don’t want la. use use.”
“ok… nah!” *places a small pack in our palms*
“ok la…we’re done… follow us…”
we went on to the next part of the trail.
there was a sign that said,
“the person you slept with was tested positive for HIV. open a card to determine your fate. a red card means you are HIV positive, a black card means you are HIV negative (but you won’t be so lucky everytime).”
we were both “HIV positive”
-.-
so we walked on.
there were many signs along the way,
with phrases like…
“you were tempted.”
“you acted on impulse.”
“your mind’s a mess.”
“you don’t know what to do.”
“it’s too late.”
then there was a guy attempting suicide by hanging himself.
he passed us his death letter.
we walked on.
we saw pictures of victims.
*shudders*

learning objective:
(1) abstinence is the best assurance
(2) even a condom cannot protect you 100% from AIDS
(3) anyone can contract AIDS
—-
so i came home.
took a look at the “gift”.
the inner flap of it says…
THE CONDOM TOP TEN
THE ESSENTIAL TIPS
1. never use a condom more than once.
2. always check the condom’s expiry date.
3. keep your condoms where they can be damaged by heat, light or damp. (huh?)
4. handle with care – condoms can be torn by fingernails and sharp things like jewellery, zips and buckles.
5. talk about condoms with your partner before you have sex.
6. learn how to put on and take off a condom before you use one for the first time. (must practise one huh? so wrong lor… i thot supposed to abstain?!)
7. try different types of condoms so that you find the one you both like best. (huh? even worst right?)
8. don’t stop your sex play to put on a condom – make it part of sex. (sian diao…)
9. don’t use oil-based lubricants like baby oil, bath oil or petroleum jelly with latex condoms. if additional lubricant is required, make sure it is water-based. (…)
10. oh, and did we mention that you should always, always use a condom, even if your partner is using another form of contraception? (no wonder birth rate falling. people having sex, but no fertilisation possible…)

TIPS ON RESPONSIBLE SEX
1. when you feel it’s the right time to have sex, make sure you’re protected.
2. if you don’t want to have sex, you’re right to say no.
3. choose a right moment to talk about protected sex and using condoms with your partner.
4. there is always a risk of getting pregnant when there is sexual contact.
5. STIs are sexually transmitted infections and with sexual contact, you run the risk of getting them. HIV is the worst STI, of which there is no cure to date.
6. STIs can remain undetected but a simple STI test by your doctor will show if you have one.
7. a pill will not stop you from getting STIs, but a condom can. (not 100% lorrr…)
8. mentioning condoms may ruin the moment, but not mentioning condoms may ruin your life.

i think 5-9 of essential tips quite … … … ;
while the tips on responsible sex make more sense.
—-
the trail was cool.
showed us the other side of the coin.
*shudders*
so…
abstinence is the best ;
if you can’t abstain, at least be safe.
P.S. i is pissed. *roar* outing organising shiat. yucks.
